Two small kids foreign holidays no problem. Run a small business and travel to events with the seats down in the back. Get admiring glances from people who own other estate cars and vans for that matter...the boot is proverbial albert hall in dimensions. Only a Merc is bigger.

Car has done 157000 miles and only now starting to show signs of wear and tear. It rattles a bit with the clutch pedal out. Its the fly wheel apparently. Since I bought it at 106000 its only had the standard consumables to replace.

Car is rapid when it needs to be. Don't tend to thrash it though. Consequently fuel consumption is good. It will do 550 miles on 50 litre fill up.

If you can find a well looked after example I would recommend.

Avoid this car, had only problems

VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi SRi [120] [Sat Nav] 5dr (Review date: 9th November '13)

i had two estate cars running as fleet cars, a Laguna and a Vectra, both 1.9 Diesel. While the Laguna was surprisingly good and reliable, the Vectra turned out to be a death trap, even so i bought it with very low milage and full srvice history. First the turbo was blowing on the motorway when overtaking som other cars which almost got m killed on the third lane as it was almost impossible to get the car back onto the first lane, and it cost me £1500 including fitting to get it replaced. then the brake booster decided to stop working which almost made me crash at high speed and i only managed to avoid a colision by pulling the handbrake very gently which made the car become very unstable and it almost flipped over, a miracle how i got it finally stoipped. plus a lot of other annoying problems with the car made me finally decide to never buy another Vauxhall again, i bought another Renault now as i was really happy with my 2007 laguna 1.9 Diesel Estate.

1.9cdti 150 Sri dpf removed and remapped

VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi SRi [150][Sat Nav] 5dr [Exterior Pack II] (Review date: 16th October '12)

4.8

Vauxhall vectra 1.9cdti 150 Sri xp2 estate sat nav and Bluetooth manual. Had the car 8 months now and love it to pices. It had high mileage when I brought it at 108,000 but it had full service history. And it came with 12 months warranty. Not bought from Vauxhall.

At 111,000 miles I had a big problem the DPF packed up and the warranty would not cover all the cost for a new one because they cost £1500 minimum plus labour. So in the end the garage chose to get it removed and remapped which I was abit nevouse about because I don't know nothing about a DPF. When I got the car back I was so impressed it is so more powerful it has between 170-180 bhp now and I have a big smile on my face every time I drive it. I also have put a k&n induction kit and it gives it a lovely sound. 0-60 time is 10.5 standard it now dose it in 8 seconds which is a massive improvement. Also the top end is better now may of tested it out :) Also it has improved the mpg I used to get a average of 36 mpg which is pretty poor for a diesel I know but I have a very heavy foot as I am only 22, I know average 40 which is pretty good considering my lead foot. On a 200 mile none stop motorway journey I done it did average 60 mpg. So i would recamend a DPF removel to everyone it is worth every Penney, they cost on average of £300 including vat.

The handling is excellent for such a big car I would not change it in any way. It is better handling then my mates astra 1.9cdti 150. These cars are very rare to find in this spec I have only seen two since owning mine, you also don't see many for sale. I would recamend this car to everyone there is so much space in there. You only have a DPF on a diesel arfter 2007.

Maybe not a breath taking head turner, but a well built, reliable, smooth driving, practical estate car and terrific value for money. A comfortable, economic choice with impeccable road manners. And my dogs seem to love it!

vectra estate an ignored used bargain

VAUXHALL VECTRA 1.9 CDTi Design [120] 5dr (Review date: 19th January '12)

The Vectra diesel estate is a used car bargain. It is solid with plenty of space. The ride is very comfortable if slightly on the firm side, due in part to the 18 inch wheels fitted as standard. It is very economical on long runs for a large car. The 6 speed manual gearbox means 2000 rpm at 70 mph which gives 60 mpg. It quite happily swallows sacks of horse feed and supplements that my wife deems essential. It may lack the qudos of other makes but because of that is a lot of car for the money that wont cost a fortune to run. My kind of car.
