PEUGEOT RCZ 2.0 HDi GT 2dr (Review date: 19th June '11)

4.3

Having done around 30,000 miles in little over 6 months with only minor problems, I have been delighted with my RCZ (2 litre diesel GT). On the plus side, while the ride is a little bony, it handles really well, feeling like its on rails at decent speeds and is surprisingly economical, returning an average of around 49/50mpg. There's a surprising amount of room and comfort for the driver and front seat passenger but the back seat is near enough a leather shelf! I had one or two minor issues with some of the electronics at first but these have been fixed with no repeats. I've had one 20,000 mile service which was excellent value and so far, I've only had one change of front tyres with around 34,000 miles currently on the clock. My job sees me make several long journeys a week and the only real issue has been with the stereo which jumps a lot when playing CDs and this was also the case on the demonstration car I drove when trying one out. Overall, a pleasure to drive, surprisingly comfortable and good value for money.

Having opted for the diesel GT version over the petrol (such a wise choice) I was initially very pleased with my RCZ but then after a few days when depressing the clutch through the gears from 1st - 3rd there was a grinding noise so back to puegeot it went where I was informed that there was a recall on the car due to a fuel hose problem which have now all been rectified and I can get back to enjoying driving a fantastic car, which in all intense and purposes is on par if not better spec wise than the Audi TT, which for RCZ money you wouldnt get a TT with the same amount of spec...maybe I'm wrong but hey who cares!!!!

4.8

The RCZ is a stunning design, better than the current Audi TT. The interior is well layed out and a pleasure to spend time in. The analogue clock in the middle of the dash is a great idea and it will take 3 adults, with the passenger seat fully forward. The 1.6 motor is strong enough for rapid progress, but the suspension / ride is quite stiff, although this does equate to excellent handling, when pressing on. Build quality is good, there are a couple of niggles, the door mirrors constantly trap water, where they join the car, which is a pain, as it has permanent water run marks down the door. I think Peugeot could have taken the trouble to have fitted an illuminated ignition barrel, as it's difficult to insert the key at night without fumbling. The car is used daily, has proved to be very economical ave 37-40 mpg. One concern is that the car tends to pull to the left,( nothing to do with road camber, i have driven on the other side of the road, same problem !! ) i have had the car checked for alignment at an independant, only to be told it's fine but, i'm the 5th RCZ owner with the same concern, that he's dealt with. Anyone else aware of this problem ? Overall i rate the car highly and my wife loves it

What a Fantastic Car!

PEUGEOT RCZ 1.6 THP Sport 2dr (Review date: 13th February '11)

Marked down for practicality as it is not an MPV, but the RCZ is amazingly practical for a 2 door coupe. The boot is huge and will swallow more luggage than most modern hatchbacks. It gets admiring glances wherever you go, and even in the 156 bhp form, is fast enough for everyday fun. The handling is superb and the breaks, unbelievable!

Nice looks shame about reliabilty

PEUGEOT RCZ 1.6 THP Sport 2dr (Review date: 7th December '10)

I bought the RCZ because of its stunning looks. But beware since buying mine Its been back at the dealer a number of times because of clutch problems Im on my second clutch already and I havent even done 1000 miles. The leather effect material on the dash is also starting to crease badly and Im currently in the process of a warranty claim to have the dash sorted.

Peugeot need to make the RCZ more reliable to suit the looks. as it has typical peugeot poor build quality

new peugeot RCZ

PEUGEOT RCZ 1.6 THP GT 2dr (Review date: 30th November '10)

I have been driving new RCZ for 4 months and it's a great car, stunning looking coupe with unique design. Handling is good, sharp, engine is responsive and brakes are strong. Only cons are small back seats, only usable for kids, but boot is reasonably big (able to fit 2 big lagguages). Overall I love my RCZ.
