it was a good run about, it was spacious, ran when it was cold, very economical, and good on petrol.

It ran like a sports car even though it was a little car.

the only bad thing was that it had a few blind spots. i wish that they would bring this car back!!

My Puma

A little pocket rocket, certainly had the odd smile from the ladies, very good performance, glues to the road like my old mini cooper, stunning. For a sporty car 38mpg around town is good, i base that on 30-45 mph urban driving. Small tank so range aint great, small boot but large enough for a family shop.

Nippy little devil

FORD PUMA 1.7 Millenium 3dr (Review date: 29th May '11)

4.8

I was planning to buy a Vauxhall Tigra but a few mechanic acquaintances recommended this one instead. Also my wife likes this one better (she has a Ford streetKa), therefore I went for it. I had it for a year now and I am very pleased.

It's not a family car but it's perfect for a childless couple. It's quite economic for a coupe. I do 36 miles per galon with my 1.7 123 hp millenium edition (petrol is about £1.35 per litre around here at the moment and I get 6 miles per pound).

It is very fast, fun to drive but bit bumpy on the road because of the stiff suspension. Comfortable at high speeds, you still get a kick when you push the gas pedal even at 90 mph.

Pumas generally have a rust problem around the wheel arches and inside the doors. Mine also has a condensation problem inside the backlight covers on rainy days, which I also have witnessed on another Puma around where I live, so I wonder if it's an "issue" with Pumas.

Very good factory fitted sound system + wiper timer. Great little car at this price range.

Beautiful to drive

FORD PUMA 1.7i 16V 3dr (Review date: 21st May '11)

Ten years and with more than 180,000 on the clock, my Ford Puma is still beautiful to drive. Quick, smooth and responsive.

I'm only selling it because I've changed to a diesel because of the miles I do.

If I could have bought another Puma, I would have done.

Top Gears Top Marks

FORD PUMA 1.7i 16V 3dr (Review date: 30th April '11)

4.5

Well I've owned a few cars in my 10 years of driving but only 1 car has ever held my attention for any significant period of time.

I bought my 1st Puma soon after Ford released it. I've loved that car so much I brought a 2nd, as a project car. Top Gear then classed the car as their car of the year in 1997 and held a high accolade in Top Gear hearts and minds after being voted best sports car under 10k in 2004. Awards that I feel I more then deserved given the experiences I had in mine.

Unfortunately I fell asleep at the wheel and wrote it off. Every car I brought after that just never felt the same and without spending thousands of pounds more then I wanted I did not think I would find a car like the Puma and I never did.

After a painful search for a car worthy of driving I gave up and got my other Puma on the road. And I have to say, that was the best decision I ever made.

The only reason I don't have one any more is the recession. But I hope to have one soon again once business picks up.

I would pretty much rate this car as perfect but unfortunately it isn't as eventually it will succumb to time but until then for the family, thrill seeker, commuter or the cruiser this is the best car I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

My best car owned so far

FORD PUMA 1.7i 16V 3dr (Review date: 30th April '11)

So far this has been a brilliant car ! best car i have owned so far. Its quick (faster then the boy racers you see in their zetecS fiestas!) it looks good, although, considered a bit girly. Plenty of room inside for such a small coupe. Also the sound system from standard is amazing.

Only thing i can fault this car on is reliability, although other reviews say theirs has been quite reliable, mine unfortunatley has not. Needed to have a new clutch, brakes, heater!, all 4 new tires within 4 months and the boot doesnt open. But then again that could just be my car.
