The SATNAV is useless
AUDI A4 2.0 TDI 143 SE 4dr Multitronic (Review date: 11th October '14)
The worst aspect of this car has to be the Satnav. It will not accept a full postcode so you HAVE to know the road name where you are going and often I don't have this to hand. Many a time I have had to rely on my Nokia mobile to find where I want to go, which totally defeats the object.
The other disappointment is the diesel consumption. I do more long runs than about town and over the last 14,000 miles I've averaged 42.63 mpg. Interestingly it's got better as the car has aged - when I first bought it with 12,000 on the clock I was only achieving about 38 mpg!
I like the hands free phone and it's great when a message comes in and is read out to you, but then it's no good at hearing your response unless you're going really slowly with little road noise. And that's my only other complaint - it's very noisy over poor surfaces, but then that seemed to apply to most cars I tested prior to choosing the Audi.
A4 SE Technik (163)
AUDI A4 2.0 TDIe 163 SE Technik 4dr (Review date: 6th October '14)
I've now owned my Audi for about a week and am very pleased with it. My last 2 cars were Mazda 6s, and the Audi is definitely a step up in refiniement. The cabin is stunning, all the materials are premium and just the whole feel of the car is tighter.
The boot space disappoints a bit as I'm used to the massive boot in the Mazda (which was also a hatchback), but it's still big enough for day to day use. The challenge will come when we go on a driving holiday and need to fit in all my 2 year old daughter's toys etc.
The MPG is also nowhere near what Audi advertise. I thought I'd see how much I could get out of it, so turned off the aircon and drove like Miss Daisy's chauffuer to and from work. So far, I'm averaiging 52 MPG on a 40 mile return largely motorway journey, far short of even the quoted combined MPG of 63. While still a much better performance than my Mazda 6, it's annoying that Audi (and no doubt all other manufacturers) are allowed to over quote so much.
Apart from that, it's really fun to drive, the toys inside (the Technik SE pack comes with leather seats, sat nav, bluetooth and just about everything else) are a joy
Definitley happy with my purchase despite the couple of niggles
Not a driver's car
AUDI A4 2.0 TDI 177 Quattro SE Technik 4dr (Review date: 5th September '14)
Bought this car as I was looking for a 4-door, diesel, 4wd car - surprisingly few in that category. It's OK, but not very exciting. The interior is of good quality, good sound system, but the climate control is fiddly. Thought the extra torque would make up for the drop in power, from my usual petrol cars, when it comes to overtaking - not the case. On the plus side the economy is great - 45-50mpg - so there are smiles driving past the garages. The Sat Nav's a bit hit-and-miss: it's a nuisance having to eject my music CDs and wait for the system to load, and you cannot enter full post codes - which can make setting the destination difficult - but it is very precise and clear with directions. The start-stop system is completely random, which is another frustration - I know it's a bit of a gimmick, but if it's there it should work properly (the system on my wife's BMW is very reliable). Road holding is great, as I would expect from the Quattro system, and I love the electronic hand brake.
In summary it seems reliable, feels plush, has great economy, but has a few frustrations. It is, however, not a lot of fun or excitement - look elsewhere if driving is one of your pleasures.
economy very bad

had my 58 plate A4 2.0 TDi 143 SE for a month.drove 1100 miles. motorway and town. motorway no more than 45mpg. driving at a speed between 50 and 75. town no more than 32mpg. nowhere near the company saying 40.4mpg. My 90 percent driving is in town work, school run etc. driving audi is a pleasure. so far no problems. next time i go for BMW efficient dynamics
Great car but only 45MPG at best
AUDI A4 2.0 TDI 177 Quattro S Line 4dr S Tronic (Review date: 26th February '14)
I have the 177 Quattro automatic and I'm writing a review because I can't get my head around the other MPG figures stated on this site.... Before I get to the bad point I must say this card is great in terms of the Quattro system and as I have the fully loaded version its a joy to spend time in. this issue I have is the MPG.. around town I get about 29MPG and on a long drive at 70MPH at best I can get 45MPG. I have spoken to Audi to see if I have a fault but they were not prepared to comment other than this might improve after I have worn the engine in at 15K. I have seen other reviews were 50+MPG is achieved however with mine this is impossible. I would like to state that I don't hammer the car everywhere and on the motorways I keep it around 70MPH... so in short if you want 50+ MPG this might not be for you.

AUDI A4 2.0 TDIe 136 SE 4dr [Start Stop] (Review date: 12th October '13)
After many years driving a string of brand new, medium sized company cars, Mondeos etc, an (05) A4 2.0TDI S-Line, with 63,000 miles on the clock, was my first venture into owning my own car. After adding another 15,000 lovely to drive, lovely to look at and above all affordable to maintain work miles, I must say that the 7 year old was the youngest, taughtest and "newest" feeling car I had ever lived with (during the many previous years of company car driving).
I changed it for a 3 year old with 32000 in July (2013), enter the Audi A4 2.0 TDIe 136 SE 4dr [Start Stop]. The amasing thing was that when I tried this one, how very similar it felt in so many ways to the old s-line. A testament, I thought, to the quality of Audi and both of these cars
2012 S4 Saloon
AUDI A4 S4 Quattro 4dr S Tronic (Review date: 17th March '13)
Fantastic all rounder - good for the family trips and motorway commutes, and great fun on the a roads
It loves petrol so be ware conservative driving will return around 25 mpg combined
I purchased the car after owning a number of BMWs and with the winters getting worse I wanted something with AWD, yet to try but hoping its an improvement on the RWD
After owning an Impreza wrx a decade ago I'm hoping this will be equally as reliable and fun to drive for the next couple of years
2011 A4 Dynamik 2.0 TFSI Quattro = Simply Brilliant
AUDI A4 2.0T FSI Quattro Dynamik 4dr [Start Stop] (Review date: 27th February '13)
I own the Special Edition Audi A4 Dynamik 2.0TFSI.
The A4 Dynamik is a limited special edition only 400 Made for Uk Customers only. The Dynamik has a exclusive Bodykit including side skirts, Rear spoiler( Not a big one) , Front splitter, Rear diffusers where the exhausts are. It also has Black and Silver Wheels 19" Wheels (Complimented all the time ! ) Black Front Grille and black around the Windows. To finish it off it has been lowered by 20mm from the standard Audi A4. All of this is fitted factory standard to make the Dynamik an "Exclusive Edition"
There is no other way i can describe it but FANTASTIC !
It is Spacious for a family of 5, Split Folding Rear Seats as standard comfortable Leather. It also has a Space Saver Spare Wheel as standard which is incredibly useful unlike a Bmw.
It is very Smooth fast and Responsive and will pick up quickly in any Gear. With the Quattro there at all times. You will never loose Grip even if you accelerate off the line as hard as you can.The Steering is light and Easy.
In the snow although it has 255/35/19 Summer Tyres fitted it is like a Snow Plough. It gets through it with ease.
I have driven 18000 Hard miles and i only just need to replace the Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx Gt tyres which come with every Dynamik from New. It also has even tyre Wear which is a bonus. It is Very reliable not had any major problems, But if you are purchasing a A4 Dynamik then watch out for the Side Skirts and the Spoiler as they may be loose as this happened to me.
It is pretty good on fuel for its staggering performance although it does use alot of Oil as does any Audi 2.0TFSI this is also stated in the Handbook.
It never stops getting compliments off people. Everywhere it goes !
It looks staggering beuatiful !
If you are thinking of buying an A4 go for the Dynamik (Preferably a Red Manual A4 Saloon) and you will not regret your purchase guaranteed !
