Bugatti looks set to unveil a 1,350bhp limited edition version of its Veyron at the Geneva Motor Show to celebrate the car maker’s centenary.

This is according to rumours spreading on the Internet, with the new hypercar getting the name Centenaire.

Bugatti says it is policy not to comment on rumours but last year a memo was leaked suggesting the manufacturer was going to be launching a model which could accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.4 seconds and hit 263mph.

If this is correct then the Bugatti Veyron Centenaire will be the world’s fastest car, overtaking the 257mph SSC Ultimate Aero TT.

The Centenaire will be the latest in a long run of limited edition Veyrons which have included the paint-less Pur Sang and convertible Grand Sport – both costing well in excess of £1 million.

And at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti unveiled its Hermes Veyron, developed in conjunction with the super-posh French design house.

It’s already been confirmed that luxury tuner Mansory will officially unveil its Linea Vincero model based on the Veyron in Switzerland.

We’ll have to wait until the show kicks off on Tuesday to find out if the Centenaire rumours are true – and Auto Trader will be reporting live from the event.

In the meantime, Bugatti has gone picture crazy by releasing more than 50 shots of the Veyron taken in Dubai.
