Hyundai has revealed the first details on its all-new city car – the i10.

Designed to be ‘fun, affordable and practical’ the Hyundai i10 is impressively equipped boasting standard features such as air-con, front electric windows, CD-player and four airbags.

And at just 3.5 metres long, the five-door Hyundai i10 should be ideal for tight parking and city life.

There will only be one engine available, a 1.1-litre petrol plant producing 65bhp and coupled with either a manual or automatic gearbox.

Performance figures haven’t been revealed, but the Hyundai i10 should accelerate from 0-60mph in about 12 seconds and a top speed nudging 100mph.

Hyundai claim the manual i10 will manage a combined fuel economy of more than 60mpg and emit just 119g/km of carbon dioxide.

This means an annual tax bill of £35 and exemption from the London Congestion when the rules change in February next year.

As with all of the Korean car maker’s vehicles, the Hyundai i10 is covered by a five year unlimited mileage warranty.

The i10 is the second ‘i' car from Hyundai following in the tyre marks of the i30 family hatchback which went on sale earlier this year.

Prices for the Hyundai i10 – which goes on sale in March 2008 – start from less than £6,500.
