• All-new Forester 4×4 to go on sale next year
• Improved performance and fuel economy
• Larger, more refined and more efficient.
Next year’s all-new Subaru Forester has been announced. Going on sale in Summer 2013, the 4×4 will be larger, more refined and more efficient than its predecessor.
In keeping with the Forester’s rugged image, it will retain Subaru’s four-wheel drive system and will be powered by an updated range of its unique 2.0-litre ‘Boxer’ petrol and diesel engines. Both the petrol and the diesel will produce 148bhp, whilst a 276bhp turbocharged version of the 2.0-litre petrol is in the offing.
The Forester will get a six-speed manual transmission as standard, whilst a CVT ‘box is an option. This transmission has been tweaked by Subaru to provide better fuel economy despite the increase in power.
Next year’s Forester will be more spacious inside and provide a more refined drive whilst retaining the previous model’s dynamics. This is helped by a lower centre of gravity and improved rigidity in the body.
