This is the new Citroen C3 Picasso – the French carmaker’s all-new five-seat mini MPV.

The new Citroen C3 Picasso will make its debut at the 2008 Paris motor show in October, and will launch in the UK mid-2009.

The new Citroen C3 Picasso measures just four metres long and 1.6 metres tall, but is “deceptively spacious inside”, with Citroen claiming the interior can be customised to make full use of cabin space.

The split-folding rear seats slide independently and can be folded away in a single motion, while a mobile boot floor provides a level loading space up to the first row seat back.

The front passenger seat can also be completely folded down to make better use of interior space, and serves as a table top.

The new Citroen C3 Picasso will come with two “new-generation” petrol engines - 95bhp and 120bhp VTi models – along with two HDi diesel engines producing 90bhp and 110bhp.

The Citroen C3 Picasso offers up a “light and bright” cabin thanks to a three-part windscreen giving the car a large “glazed area.” This is coupled to a high-seating position, wraparound windows and a panoramic glass roof.

The C3 Picasso is the latest MPV to join Citroen’s range, including the C4 Picasso, C4 Grand Picasso, Berlingo and the Citroen C8.

Citroen has also announced details of its upgraded C4 hatch, with new styling and two new petrol engines.

The new 1.6-litre petrol engines – co-developed with BMW – produce 120bhp and 150bhp and offer up improved fuel economy and lower emissions.

The facelifted Citroen C4 echoes its stunning C5 stablemate, with chrome touches, a curvier bonnet and restyled grille.
