Michael Jackson fan kicks repo driver
03 July 2009
Vijay Pattni is your host for this week’s Weird World of Wheels.
Remember kids – debt is bad.
You might get your payslip and think “turbocharger this month, save next month” – but before you splash out on that new twin-turbo set-up or F1-inspired rear wing for your Volkswagen Lupo, remember – if you don’t make good on your debts, people will come.
And when they do come, they’ll come after your pride and joy, like this unfortunate…
Shamone
Broadcast on American telly, Operation Repo is a reality show documenting, you guessed it, repossessions.
But this repo man didn’t bank on one Michael Jackson fan and his love for his beloved DeLorean DMC-12.
When said repo man attempts to take the vehicle, our man does his best MJ impression…and promptly lands a kick right in the repo man’s smackers.
If this isn’t comedy gold, we’ll eat our diamond-studded white gloves…

Monster truck
But while we sort-of agree with the MJ fan – in that DeLoreans shouldn’t be repossessed – here’s one monstrosity we wish did get taken away.
If you’ve eaten your lunch, then I apologise, but this has to be seen to be believed – this Hummer has been modded to the tune of £112,000…to look like a Transformer from the 1940s.
Sure, it’s got a V8, a leather interior and more TV screens to put a branch of Curry’s out of business – but for the love of God, don’t look directly at it!
Hybrid Ferrari?
No. Before you get carried away, this is not a hybrid Ferrari. It’s not a hybrid Audi R8 either. It’s something that should only be seen after hours. Preferably with the lights switched off. And behind a closed door.
This is the Chinese-built Tong Jian S11, which takes design cues from any modern Ferrari, the side profile of an Audi R8 and the nose of, whatever else they could find in the photocopier.
Crucial for the modern age is the fact that it’s powered by a hybrid engine. But even more importantly…it’s hideous.
