Tyson, Rooney, a new Veyron and the Scirocco
Mike Tyson’s Bentley Continental for sale
We’ve had cars owned by everyone from David Beckham to the Sultan of Brunei but none with the sheer magnitude of boxing legend Mike Tyson.
So when we found a Bentley belonging to the tattoo-faced former boxing great we knew it was a big story with Tyson’s old car appearing worldwide – but first on Auto Trader.
Wayne Rooney’s Aston Martin Vanquish S for sale
Man United and England star Wayne Rooney loves his cars, owning countless supercars and 4x4s – and they don’t come with more prestige than his old Vanquish S.
Rooney was the first owner of the 2006 Vanquish which uses a 6-litre V12 engine developing 520bhp and 325lb/ft of pulling power – enabling a top speed of 200mph.
The seller won the Aston – which came with the plate WAZ8 – in a Coca Cola competition.
Hermes Bugatti Veyron makes world debut at Geneva
At the Geneva Motor Show the wraps were taken off the limited edition Bugatti Veyron Fbg Par Hermes.
Mechanically, the Veyron remained standard, boasting 1,001bhp and a top speed of 253mph, but cosmetically it received the Hermes treatment.
This meant re-spraying the hypercar in two shades of brown and fitting the dream machine with a new set of 22-inch alloys. The inside is adorned with leather from the hide of a bull calf with the dashboard covered in brushed aluminium.
The cost? £1.2 million - £370,000 more than the standard Veyron.
Volkswagen Scirocco steals the show
The Bugatti Veyron might have been the most expensive new car on display in Geneva but the show-stealer was a £20,000 Volkswagen.
The Scirocco has been one of the cars of the year making a more successful comeback than Take That thanks to its stunning design, great handling and brilliant pricing.
Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
The Gallardo is Lamborghini’s most successful ever car and they made it that little bit better for Geneva.
Boasting more power and fewer CO2 emissions, the 520bhp Gallardo will hit 62mph in 3.7 seconds and rocket all the way to 201mph.
Nissan GT-R price shock
For the past year, the Nissan GT-R has made headline after headline in the motoring press for its engineering magnificence and performance superlatives.
Which begged the question just how much would someone pay for a Nissan? It will beat an £830,000 Bugatti Veyron round the Nürbürgring after all.
But the Veyron costs 16 times more than the £52,900 GT-R.
