If Bond villain Auric Goldfinger needed to make a quick getaway, Auto Trader has the perfect car for him - a gold-plated Aston Martin DB7.

Created for Prince Francesco Ruspoli of Italy by London-based company Alchemist, this Aston Martin DB7 took six craftsmen one month to complete.

The Aston Martin DB7’s exterior was varnished and polished to produce a smooth surface before having 24-carat and 23.5-carat gold, platinum and palladium placed on the surfaces.

After this was completed, a scratchproof shield was applied, while the bonnet has seven diamonds embedded on it.

The gold-plated Aston Martin DB7 was displayed at the MPH ’08 show at Earl’s Court, following the car’s extensive work.

Launched in 1994, the Aston Martin DB7 was regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful cars before production was ended in 2003.

The DB7 was then replaced by the Aston Martin DB9 – a car which new James Bond Daniel Craig’s DBS is based on.

Under the hood of the 1995 gold-plated Aston Martin DB7 is a supercharged 3.2-litre engine which develops 335bhp and 361lb/ft of pulling power.

Coupled with a five-speed gearbox, the British sports car accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 165mph while averaging 19.2mpg.

The engine was recently overhauled while the car had a full service last year.

The gold-plated Aston Martin DB7 is being sold on behalf of Prince Ruspoli by Alchemist founder Jacques Blanc for £95,000.
