A 1,001bhp Bugatti Veyron, a hypercar regarded by many as the most exquisite piece of automotive engineering ever is for sale on Auto Trader.

Powered by a 8-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, the Bugatti Veyron produces an incredible 1,001bhp – giving the four-wheel drive car a 0-62mph (100kph) time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 253mph.

The Bugatti Veyron will also hit 124mph (200kph) in 7.3 seconds and 186mph (300kph) in 16.7 seconds.

But while it’s not the world’s fastest car with the SSC Ultimate Aero TT hitting 257mph, it’s seen as the most intensively designed car.

The seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox took 50 engineers five years to complete while with all the research and development involved, each Bugatti Veyron reportedly costs the Volkswagen-owned company £5 million.

And the Veyron will stop as quickly as it will start.

At its 253mph top speed, the Veyron’s ceramic brake discs and pop-up spoiler will stop the car in just ten seconds.

While you get sublime performance, the Veyron will average just 11mpg while it will emit 574g/km of carbon dioxide – more than five times as much as a Toyota Aygo.

However, despite these emissions, the two-seat Bugatti Veyron is in the same tax band as a seven-seat Ford Galaxy – meaning an annual bill of £400.

Inside, the Bugatti Veyron is awash with luxury with the leather seats emblazoned with EB – in honour of the car maker’s founder Ettore Bugatti.

Now you can get your hands on this Bugatti Veyron (pictured, right) which is for sale through Buckinghamshire-based dealer Saffron Cars for £1,050,000.

Saffron Cars’ Kevin Edwards said: “We’re delighted to be selling a Bugatti Veyron. It’s arguably the greatest car ever built and despite its 253mph top speed it’s not too much of a handful to drive.

“If you’re looking for a special car, they don’t come more recognisable or imposing than this 1,001bhp hypercar.”

If £1,050,000 is too much for a 240mph+ monster, Auto Trader also has an SSC Ultimate Aero for £399,000 and a range of 245mph Koenigsegg CCXs ranging between £340,000 and £350,000.
