An Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, one of the year’s sexiest and rarest cars is for sale on Auto Trader.

Alfa Romeo announced 500 8C Competiziones would leave the production line with just 41 coming to the UK – all of which were immediately snapped up.

But you won’t get your hands on one of the supercars of the year for its book price of £112,000.

This Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione on Auto Trader is up for £165,000 + taxes.

Powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine, Alfa Romeo’s first post-Second World War supercar produces 450bhp and 354lb/ft of pulling power.

This gives the carbon fibre Italian supercar a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 181mph.

But it’s not just the performance which grabs your attention, but the 8C’s jaw-dropping body, 20-inch alloys wheels and searing V8 engine growl.

The 8C in the title refers to the eight cylinder engines Alfa used in its cars of the Thirties and Forties, while the Competizione badge was used by five times F1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio when he raced for Alfa from 1950 – 1951.

It’s not the first time a desirable supercar has commanded a premium on Auto Trader.

Audi’s first supercar – the stunning R8 – has an on-the-road price of £76,000, but cars are changing hands at more than £100,000.

And you’ll find 218mph Ferrari Enzos – which cost £418,000 new in 2002 – on the Market for £750,000.
