04 March 2008 The Nissan GT-R will cost £52,900 when it goes on sale in the UK – far less than expected. This price tag puts the Nissan GT-R into direct competition with the BMW M3, which is on sale for £50,625 and costs just as much as the GT-R once extras have been added. And the Nissan GT-R costs about half as much as the £97,840 Porsche 911 Turbo, the German supercar which the GT-R was benchmarked against during its development. View the Nissan GT-R slide show now The Nissan GT-R is also available as a ‘Premium Edition’ model with automatic headlamps and a digital Bose audio system for £54,200 and as a ‘Black Edition’ with exclusive ‘Kuro’ black paint, gunmetal alloy wheels and a black and red leather interior for £55,500. The GT-R gets from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds, and on to an incredible top speed of 195mph making it the UK’s fastest car for the price. The advanced four-wheel-drive system makes use of all 473bhp from the 3.8-litre V6 engine with two turbochargers. During its development it lapped the gruelling Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany in 7m 38s - an incredible two seconds faster than the Bugatti Veyron. Prospective owners can place a deposit online from April 4 at www.gtrnissan.com or by visiting one of ten newly assigned Nissan High Performance Centres from April 2 with a £3,500 deposit. Deliveries to the UK begin in March 2009 |
