New: 217mph Brabus-tuned Mercedes SL65 AMG
02 May 2008 German tuner Brabus has developed a monster tuning package for the latest Mercedes SL65 AMG. The Brabus S V12 S Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG package will up oomph from a more-than-adequate 612bhp to a massive 730bhp and 995lb/ft of pulling power. View more images of the 217mph Merc The result should launch the modified Mercedes SL65 AMG from 0-62mph (100kph) in less than 4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 217mph – more than the Mercedes McLaren SLR hypercar. On top of the mechanical boost, the Mercedes SL65 AMG will also get a full bodykit and 20-inch alloy wheels. The Brabus-tuned Merc is based on the recently launched Mercedes SL65 which went on sale in the UK last month. Those not looking for a 200mph+ monster, but like the Merc’s looks can opt for the less extreme standard models which are available with a choice of 3.5- or 6.2-litre engines. Prices for the crazy Brabus S V12 S Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG haven’t been released as yet. But with the standard SL65 AMG costing £150,000, you’ll need to look around the £200,000 mark for the Brabus brute – though this is still more than £100,000 less than the McLaren Mercedes SLR. |
