Auto Trader has exclusively obtained eye-watering figures detailing outstanding parking ticket fines in London.

One Range Rover Sport HSE has collected a mammoth £10,065 in parking fines in Westminster, topping the list issued to us. That’s one sixth of the car’s value racked up in parking tickets alone.

A fellow RR Sport HSE sits in second place with £8,740 followed by another Range Rover – making it a straight 1-2-3 for the luxury off-roader.

Range Rovers continue to appear on the list with a total of six in the top 20. You could be forgiven for thinking the luxury 4x4 is the major offender but you’d be wrong. That title goes to Porsche with 10 out of the top 20.

Making up the top 20 are two Jaguars and two Rolls-Royces.

These figures follow last year’s statistics released by Westminster detailing the problem of foreign drivers not paying parking tickets.

It’s claimed more than 80 per cent of foreign-registered bikes and cars fail to pay for tickets issued for illegal parking in Westminster.

And it’s not motorists parking their battered old hatchbacks and city cars, it’s super-rich supercar owners who fail to pay the fines.

The owner of a Dubai-registered Lamborghini Murcielago had racked £2,000 for 17 outstanding tickets while an American-registered Hummer was the not-so-proud owner of more than 35 tickets totalling £4,000.

The worst, however, was the owner of an un-named motorbike which had clocked up 400 tickets totalling £45,000.
