New 2008 Ford Focus on sale
02 January 2008 The new Ford Focus is now on sale with a new look and a host of new equipment. The best-selling Ford Focus has been 'Mondeo-ised', and the revisions are most evident at the front, with the Volkswagen Golf rival sporting new headlamps and a bolder grille. Prices remain competitive, with just a £250 increase over the previous entry-level Ford Focus. The range has been streamlined, with Ford dropping the LX, Zetec Climate and Ghia models; although a green Ford Focus ECOnetic model has joined the line-up. The Ford Focus ECOnetic, priced from £15,795, is the first of the company's low CO2 vehicles. It emits just 115g/km of CO2, placing it in tax band B – costing £35 per year. The entire Ford Focus range has been improved, and skid-preventing electronic stability programme standard throughout the range, which should help the new model to retain its five-star EuroNCAP crash test result. Inside the 2008 Ford Focus has seen a raft of improvements, including a dash which brings the hatchback in line with the new Mondeo saloon. |
