The world's most powerful production TT has been revealed ahead of its Geneva motor show debut - the 300bhp+ Audi TT RS.

The Audi TT RS will use a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine developing ‘well above 300PS’ – or 294bhp - according to the German carmaker.

Details are vague, but expect the Audi TT RS to complete the 0-62mph sprint in less than five seconds. Audi also claims "155mph is the limited top speed only on paper".

These performance figures will put the TT RS up against the Porsche Cayman S and Porsche Boxster S, with enough power to rival the upcoming Ford Focus RS.

The Audi TT RS makes its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 3 alongside the new Audi A4 Allroad Quattro.

Despite the world being in the grips of recession, the Geneva Motor Show is shaping up to be a brilliant automotive spectacle.

Cars on display in Switzerland include a hot-new Bentley, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Rolls-Royce 200EX and the Alfa MiTo GTA.

We’ll be reporting live from Geneva on March 3 so don’t forget to come back for all the big news as it happens.
