Premiership Footballer El Hadji Diouf has been showing off his shiny new motor – a chromed Mercedes McLaren SLR.

The Blackburn Rovers star was snapped getting out of the flash supercar in Manchester.

Sporting a set of black alloy wheels and a personalised plate, the McMerc attracted plenty of attention from passers-by as Diouf and a friend visited the swanky Living Room bar.

We’re not sure what the locals would have thought of the car’s price-tag. It’s thought the Senegalese footballer had to hand over more than 400,000 shiny pound coins for the Mercedes.

And Diouf’s Mercedes SLR isn’t a case of ‘all show and no go’ with the coupe powered by a 5.4-litre V8 engine developing 617bhp and 575lb/ft of pulling power.

With all this oomph spinning the rear wheels, this Anglo-Deutsch supercar accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 208mph.

The Blackburn star, who has also played for Liverpool, Bolton, and Sunderland over a seven year period, is well-known for his cars.

He has owned a Ferrari F430, Aston Martin DB9, Cadillac Escalade and a customised Range Rover over the past few years.

The photos of Diouf’s Mercedes won’t impress Arsenal’s William Gallas who was recently photographed in a chromed-up SLR Roadster.
