An Aston Martin V8 Vantage formerly owned by England and Tottenham Hotspur footballer Jermain Defoe is for sale on Auto Trader.

Jermain Defoe, who has notched up 25 caps and three goals for his country, bought the car in January 2007.

Billed as the 'baby' Aston Martin, the V8 Vantage was the company's answer to the Porsche 911, and when first launched, had a rumoured three-year waiting list.

It was the 26^th V8 Vantage to roll off the company's production line, and had been a demonstration model.

The two-seat super-sportscar packs a 380bhp V8 engine under its stubby bonnet, which produces blistering performance. It will reach 0-60mph in less than five seconds, before reaching 175mph.

The former West Ham striker has been a valuable asset to Spurs, scoring 18 goals in 43 appearances in the 2006-7 season.

Jermaine Defoe is the latest Premiership footballer to have a car appear for sale on Auto Trader. We have recently featured cars previously owned by Paul Scholes, Michael Ballack, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney for sale.

And LA Galaxy star and England legend David Beckham has had no fewer than three of his old cars appear for sale, including a GMC Yukon Denali, Mercedes S-Class and a Ford F-150.

Prestige car dealer, Duncan Hamilton currently has the Aston Martin V8 Vantage advertised, priced at £61,985.
