Boxing star Prince Naseem's Porsche for sale

Former world champion boxer “Prince” Naseem Hamed’s old Porsche Boxster is for sale on Auto Trader.

Former Bantamweight and Featherweight champion Naseem Hamed – who crowned himself “Prince” – was the first owner of this 1997 Porsche Boxster.

Prince Naseem Hamed shot to fame in the mid-1990s as a sensational boxer, employing extravagant entrances which included entering on a throne, via an elevator and with fireworks.

And inside the ring, Nas used his unorthodox “southpaw” style to score a win sheet of 31 knockouts from 37 professional fights, defeating Daniel Alicea, Manuel Medina and Tom “Boom Boom” Johnson.

Hamed’s undefeated winning streak was brought to a dramatic end in 2001 when he fought against hotly-tipped Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera, eventually losing out on points.

In 2006 he was sentenced to jail for 15 months after his £300,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was involved in a high-speed smash with a Volkswagen Golf.

Nas’s old Porsche Boxster – widely believed to be one of the best roadsters money can buy – is fitted with a 2.5-litre ‘boxer’ style engine developing 230bhp and 192lb/ft of pulling power.

This means the Boxster (pictured) can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds, hits a top speed of 155mph, and has covered just 46,000 miles.

The car is also fitted with Prince Naseem’s personalised number plate: P2 NAS.

Nas’s old Porsche is not the first boxer’s car we’ve had for sale on the site – in July this year former world champions and legendary boxing rivals Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno’s cars were for sale.

A BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz SL350 and Land Rover Discovery previously owned by the undisputed middleweight champion of the world Joe Calzaghe were up for sale last year.

And a BMW 630i Sport previously owned by Bolton-born Amir Khan – who scored his 18th consecutive win in July – was up for sale in April 2008.
