16 April 2008 A BMW 6 Series Convertible previously owned by undefeated Commonwealth boxing champion Amir Khan is for sale on Auto Trader. Bolton-born Amir Khan – who defeated Martin Kristjansen two weeks ago in a world lightweight title eliminator – is selling his drop-top BMW 630i Sport. And Amir Khan’s recent win over the hotly ranked Kristjansen marks up an impressive 17 wins – and no losses. Khan shot to fame in the 2004 Olympics in Athens to take the silver medal, and started his professional career in his home town of Bolton, taking out boxer David Bailey in just one minute and 49 seconds of the first round. Amir Khan has captivated his fans ever since, notching up an eye-watering 12 knockouts in his 17 professional bouts. And his old BMW 6 Series is a knockout performer too – featuring a 3-litre straight-six engine punching out 272bhp. This propels the drop-top Beemer from 0-62mph in just 6.7 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph. Khan was the first owner of this convertible BMW 630i Sport and sent it over to Rossiters in Kings Lynn, who performed an £11,000 upgrade with a host of AC Schnitzer tuning accessories, including 20-inch split-rim alloy wheels, suspension upgrades, an exhaust conversion and AC Schnitzer brake calipers. Amir’s BMW 630i Sport is not the first boxing champ’s car to appear for sale on Auto Trader – last year we reported on undefeated middleweight champion of the world Joe Calzaghe’s old Land Rover Discovery for sale, and former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson’s old Bentley. Now you can pick up the keys to Amir’s old BMW 630i Sport – which comes with a full AC Schnitzer kit and a full service history – for £38,995. |
