09 May 2008 Prices have been announced for the Volkswagen Passat CC four-door coupe, which goes on sale next week costing around £1k more than the equivalent Passat saloon. Entry-level Volkswagen Passat CCs are available with the choice of a 160bhp 1.8-litre TSI or 2-litre TDI diesel and cost from £21,040 or £21,870 respectively. The range-topping 296bhp 3.6-litre V6 will be available for £31,120 and includes Volkswagen’s ‘4MOTION’ four-wheel-drive system. The Passat CC is a competitor to the Peugeot 407 Coupe which starts at £19,530 and reaches £24,820 in 2.7-litre V6 diesel guise. Volkswagen’s latest model takes the Passat upmarket with its elegant coupe shape and luxurious interior. The Volkswagen Passat CC is longer and wider than the standard Passat, but it is 50mm lower, giving it a sleek and rakish appearance. Both petrols can be fitted with Volkswagen’s excellent DSG semi-automatic gearbox. Two trim levels are on offer - the standard CC and the premium GT with extra kit. Standard models are fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, air conditioning, touchscreen multimedia system, sports seats, leather steering wheel, six airbags and ESP. GT models gain 18-inch alloy wheels, premium upholstery, tinted windows, front foglights and adaptive suspension. The Passat CC engine line-up will be expanded in September with a 197bhp 2-litre petrol and 168bhp 2-litre TDI diesel engine. The Passat CC can also be fitted with high-tech features previously only seen on the luxury Volkswagen Phaeton and Volkswagen Touareg, including park assist, lane assist and automatic distance control. |
