Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen has announced it will be unveiling its new baby 4x4 on the web – three months ahead of its official debut.

The Internet launch of the Tiguan comes in the wake of an online poll which saw 350,000 users choosing its name.

Visitors to volkswagen.co.uk/tiguan can access exclusive images and information of the Land Rover Freelander rival ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The site will feature images of the car’s final shape when it’s unveiled in June, and will expand with information and insights into the development of the vehicle.

Volkswagen pulled the covers of the Tiguan Concept at last year's Los Angeles Motor Show.

The Touran MPV-sized 4x4 is fitted with an emission-reducing 'BlueTec' diesel engine and 19-inch alloys wheels with orange and black tyres.

Sales of the Tiguan in the UK are expected to start in 2008 with prices and specifications being announced nearer the time.
