Ultimate Audi TT Clubsport Quattro could be built
|
16 May 2008 Audi has not ruled out a wild version of its TT sportscar, after one was spotted in Germany. The ‘production’ version of the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro was snapped by a German magazine, prompting rumours it could yet be built. Audi is said to be considering building the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro in limited numbers but a source told us Audi UK had heard nothing but added it was ‘perfectly feasible’. View more pictures of the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro Audi claims the petrol 2-litre TSI engine would produce more than 300bhp, allowing the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro to launch from 0-60mph in less than six seconds. With no roof to speak of and a tiny front windscreen it would be aimed squarely at the enthusiast driver. In the event of a crash rear roll hoops protect occupants. The Audi TT Clubsport Quattro first appeared as a concept at the Essen Motor Show in 2007, and now rumours are circulating after German publication Auto Motor und Sport claims to have spotted a production ready version. The concept included many, but extravagant, features including carbon ceramic brakes (offered on the Audi RS4, Audi A8 and Audi S8), racing car air filter and tuned exhaust, and a bespoke cabin. Without a complex folding roof it would also be much lighter than an Audi TT or Audi TT Roadster. If the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro does get the production green-light only a limited edition run will be built, making the car a collectors dream. |
