The venerable Land Cruiser gets an upmarket makeover and a new name – Land Cruiser Invincible.

The Land Cruiser Invincible has been appointed with contemporary features bringing the huge four-wheel-drive up to date and putting it at the top of the Land Cruiser family tree.

There is a rear parking monitor - useful given the vehicles size – and a Bluetooth connection allows you to use your phone hands-free.

Traditional wooden inserts are replaced by more contemporary black timber, while the steering wheel has controls for some key dashboard functions and is finished in leather.

Exterior alterations are subtle and consist of tinted rear windows and a darker ‘smoked’ finish to the headlight glass, grille and 17-inch wheels.

Key features carried over from the previous LC5 model are satellite navigation with traffic avoidance, electronically adjustable suspension and a nine-speaker stereo with six-disc changer.

Climate control has separate settings in the front and rear of the cabin to keep all seven passengers at the right temperature.

The Land Cruiser Invincible is available now with a 3-litre diesel from £37,795 and 4-litre V6 petrol engine from £39,495.

While the diesel can be fitted with a six-speed manual or 5-speed automatic the petrol V6 has an auto as standard.
