Toyota recalls nearly 20,000 Yaris

21 May 2007 Potentially faulty locking mechanism of the front and rear head restraints might mean they detach from their seats in an accident. Toyota is also concerned that the side airbags might not fire with sufficient force in a collision. While the company says the airbags will operate properly in most cases, there is a chance that maximum protection may not be offered. Owners of 19,075 cars built between November 2005 and August 2006 will be contacted by Toyota with the offer of free inspections and remedial work. |
