This is the limited edition Seat Leon Cupra K1 – a 235bhp hot hatch inspired by the Leon touring car.

Customers can have the Seat 18-inch Orion alloys wheels fitted for an extra £205.

Mechanically, the Leon remains untouched, chucking out 235bhp and 221lb/ft of pulling power from its 2-litre turbocharged engine.

This means the sporty Seat will accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 153mph while averaging 34mpg.

With emissions of 199g/km, the Seat Leon Cupra is in tax band F – meaning an annual tax bill of £205.

Safety-wise, the Cupra is fitted with electronic stability programme with brake assist, ABS, traction control and a tyre pressure monitoring system. In the EuroNCAP crash test programme it was awarded four stars out of five.

Seat is one of the forerunners in the British Touring Car Championship with driver Jason Plato finishing runner-up the past two seasons in his Seat Leon.

Last year Plato lost out to Vauxhall’s Fabrizio Giovanardi, challenging the Italian right up until the last race despite having seriously burned himself while test driving the 210mph Caparo T1 supercar for Fifth Gear.

The Seat Leon Cupra with K1 styling kit costs £20,495 - £1,000 more than the standard Cupra and is available in black, red, grey and white.
