11 June 2008 Full details of the five-door Seat Ibiza have been announced with the Spanish supermini costing from £8,995. Designed by former Lamborghini chief Luc Donckerwolke, the Seat Ibiza is available with three petrol engines from launch – a 1.2-, 1.4- and 1.6-litre which produce 69bhp, 84bhp and 104bhp respectively. The Seat Ibiza will feature three trim levels – S, SE and Sport. The S trim – which is only available on the 1.2 – is fitted with power steering, electric front windows, four airbags, anti-lock brakes, remote central locking and steering wheel mounted audio controls for the CD player. The SE (1.4 only) adds body coloured door mirrors, all-round electric windows, cruise control, air-conditioning, trip computer and 15-inch alloys. Opt for the range-topping Sport trim (1.4 and 1.6 models) and you gain 16-inch alloys, sports suspension, sports seats and leather covered steering wheel. Buyers can also opt for the convenience pack which costs and additional £250 and includes rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear view mirror and ‘coming home’ headlights which stay on for a short interval after the engine has been turned off. Those looking for additional road safety can add electronic stability programme, a hill-holding function for steep incline starts and a tyre pressure monitor for £280. The five-door Seat Ibiza goes on sale on July 16 with prices starting from £8,995 for the entry-level 1.2, rising to £11,295 for the range-topping 1.6. |
