Porsche 911 GT3 RS to cost £100k
19 August 2009
The latest hardcore Porsche 911 GT3 RS has been announced ahead of its Frankfurt Motor Show debut.
Essentially a racing car for the road, the new GT3 RS gets 450bhp from its 3.8-litre six-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine – without a turbocharger.
To suit driving purists the RS is fitted exclusively with a short-throw six-speed manual gearbox exclusive to this model and shorter gear ratios than the GT3, for better acceleration.
Wider front and rear tracks place the wheels further apart for maximum grip, and the 9-inch wide front and 12-inch wide rear tyres sit under extended wheelarches.

The connection with motor sport is even more obvious than before, thanks to a huge carbon-fibre rear wing with aluminium supports and loud and proud graphics and paint jobs.
Precious metal has been used to construct the titanium sports exhaust.
Light weight is the order of the day, and customers can specify a lithium-ion car battery to save an extra 10kg over a standard lead item.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS will go on sale in the UK in February 2010 priced from £100,760.
