31 March 2008 This is the 225mph RUF RT12 – an insane supercar based on the awesome Porsche 911 Carrera S. And if you’ve got £223,000 you can get your hands on the German brute. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre engine, the RUF RT12 produces a titanic 650bhp and 642lb/ft of pulling power – 170bhp more than a standard Porsche 911 Turbo. View more exclusive pictures of the RUF RT12 With the power channelled to all four wheels, the RT12 will accelerate from 0-62mph (100kph) in 3.3 seconds, 0-100mph in 6.6 seconds and 0-124mph (200kph) in a spectacularly-quick 9.7 seconds. And with a little work with the gear ratios, the RUF RT12 will hit 225mph. To stop the German supercar, RUF has fitted monstrous 380mm disc brakes on the front and 330mm on the rear, housed inside a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. RUF is a German car company which specifically modify Porsches. In 1987 it unveiled the CTR (later nicknamed the Yellowbird) which took the Ferrari F40’s crown as the world’s fastest car, hitting 211mph. And the RT12 (RUF Turbo 12) took its name as a commemoration for being the 12th turbocharged RUF to come out of the Pfaffenhausen factory. Other exterior features include a modified bodykit and spoiler. Inside, the RUF RT12 is fitted with sat-nav, climate control, leather seats and a Bose sound system. If you’re looking for an ultra-rare supercar and have £189,994+ VAT burning a hole in your pocket, check out this RUF RT12, which is unregistered and being sold by Essex-based car dealer Imperials. |
