These are the first pictures of the wildest Porsche Carrera GT yet.

Top German tuners Edo Competition have turned the Stuttgart supercar to 770bhp – over 150bhp more than standard.

Edo fitted a modified air intake system and sports exhaust and recalibrated the engine’s computer to make the most of the changes.

But while the car looks almost untouched from the outside, a carbon fibre rear wing adds downforce and stability at high speeds.

The suspension has been replaced with adjustable racing components which can be adjusted by the owner to suit their needs and driving style.

The Edo Competition Carrera GT is equipped with 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels fitted with ultra-high performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres.

Edo Competition’s sports exhaust liberates 25 of the extra horsepower and Edo claims it also weighs 18kg less than the standard system.

The Porsche Carrera GT was unveiled at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2003 and was the fastest road car Porsche had ever built.

The car is based around a carbon fibre tub – and the same material is used for the brake discs – which weight about half as much as steel equivalents.

Just 1,300 were sold, and it is their owners who Edo Competition has in their sights.

The standard car rockets from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and from 0-100mph in a staggering 7.4 seconds. Its top speed is 205mph.

Edo Competition has not released performance information for its tuned GT – but with 770bhp on call its speed on the track will be mainly determined by the bravery of its driver.
