The latest supercar upstart is currently locked into battle with the 911 Turbo for supremacy at the Nürburgring, and the torpedo from Tokyo has struck the latest blow.

It has lapped the 12.93-mile circuit in just 7:27:56 – hacking two seconds off its previous time in April 2008, and a massive 11 seconds off its September 2007 attempt.

The hero behind the wheel was Nissan's chief test driver and Nurburgring expert, Toshio Suzuki who displays incredible car control in this latest video.

But the best is saved for last – the last 30 seconds reveal what its like to ring out every last drop of power from a GT-R. And that's something very few of us will ever experience.
