The new Nissan GT-R was launched in Japan in December 2007 and quickly rose to fame as one of the world’s fastest and most advanced sportscars. The GT-R packs a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine sending 473bhp to all-four-wheels via a complicated automatic gearbox. This means the GT-R can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds, and has unofficially lapped the Nurburgring in seven minutes and 38 seconds – two seconds FASTER than the £830,000 Bugatti Veyron.
