More power for UK Nissan GT-Rs
08 December 2008
The Nissan GT-R will get a power increase for European customers when it goes on sale next year.
Thanks to some fine tuning of the car’s electronics, the Nissan GT-R will now produce 475bhp from its twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre engine – an increase of 4bhp.
The Nissan will be fitted with Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST tyres which were specifically developed for the GT-R and were used when the car lapped the Nürbürgring in 7 minutes 29 seconds.

Performance figures remain the same, meaning 0-62mph takes just 3.5 seconds with the car maxing out at 195mph.
But tests have found the GT-R will accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds when attempted in ‘launch mode’.
However, despite the reduction in VAT from 17.5 per cent to 15 per cent, the price of the GT-R has increased by 3.8 per cent.
Earlier this year we revealed the GT-R would cost from just £52,900 but prices now start at £56,795 for the standard model, £58,095 for the Premium Edition and £59,395 for the Black Edition – still a staggeringly low price for a bona fide supercar.
Over the standard GT-R, the Premium model gets automatic headlights and Bose sound system while the top-trim Black Edition gains black alloys wheels and a gunmetal paint-job.
More than 2,500 orders have been taken for the Nissan GT-R with nearly a half of these expecting to find homes in the UK from April 2009.
Any one ordering the Nissan GT-R now can expect to take delivery from the middle of 2010.
