Safety boost for Nissan Almera
25 April 2003 The Almera Pulse starts at the same £9995 price as a standard 98bhp 1.5-litre entry-level S three-door, but includes a free safety pack that normally costs £500. This adds anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution and active front head restraints that help minimise whiplash injuries. Four- and five-door Almeras can also be specified with Pulse trim and cost £10,750, while the 116bhp 1.8-litre Pulse with four-speed automatic 'box costs £11,550. Meanwhile, Nissan is expanding its X-Trail 4x4 line-up with a new model that features roof-mounted spot lamps. Called the Sport-X, the new X-Trail costs from £18,995 with the 165bhp 2.5-litre petrol, which is £1500 cheaper than the other 2.5 model in the range, the SVE. The Sport-X is also available with the 114bhp 2.2-litre diesel engine for £19,495. Alloy wheels, a £910 option on standard Sport models, are also added to the Sport-X. |
