30 April 2007 The 2007 Nissan 350Z will go on sale from £26,795 – £300 more than the outgoing model. The main differenced are under the bonnet with the Japanese sports car’s engine modified by 80 per cent to boost performance. Using a 3.5-litre block, the 350Z produces 309bhp and 264lb/ft of pulling power. The engine makeover means 90 per cent of the pulling power is available at just 2,000rpm, making acceleration and overtaking easier at lower revs. The Coupe covers 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds with the heavier Roadster taking 6.1 seconds. Both cars have a limited top speed of 155mph, with the Coupe averaging 24.1mpg and the Roadster 23.5mpg. Safety features include anti-lock brakes with electronic stability programme, front, side and curtain airbags and active head rests, which minimises the chance of neck injury. Buyers opting for the £2,500 GT pack get heated leather seats, BOSE CD system and cruise control. Available from mid-May, prices for the 350Z start from £26,795 for the Coupe rising to £28,295 for the Roadster. Auto Trader links: First look at 190mph Corvette |
