Bugatti showcase four unique Centenaire Veyrons
27 April 2009
Bugatti has unveiled four unique Centenaire editions of its Veyron at the Concourso d’Eleganza.
That’s a combined 4,004bhp and £5.6 million of hypercar exotica.
To continue the car maker’s 100th anniversary, Bugatti unveiled the Veyrons in four different shades reflecting the traditional racing colours of four different countries.
Britain gets green, France is blue, it’s red for Italy and white for Germany – with each car named after a racing driver from each respective country:
• Great Britain: Malcolm Campbell
• France: Jean-Pierre Wimille
• Italy: Achille Varzi
• Germany: Hermann zu Leiningen
The Veyrons were photographed alongside four Bugatti Type 35s of the same colour.
The Type 35 dominated motor racing in the 1920s and 1930s, picking up nearly 2,000 wins over a ten year period.
Alasdair Stewart, director of sales and marketing at Bugatti said: “We have put a lot of effort into translating colour and material, the defining characteristics of our historic role models, into the designs of the modern-day Veyrons.
“We have taken extreme care to match the original colours of the original race cars, exterior and interior.”
Also on display at the Concourso d’Eleganza are the Aston Martin One-77 and Stile Bertone Mantide.
