Crazy Holden pick-up unveiled - News image

This is the amazing 410bhp pick-up which is wowing motor show fans this week.

The Holden Special Vehicles Maloo R8 boasts incredible looks as well as performance with 20-inch wheels, sporty bodykit and 4 exhausts.

The Australian manufacturer is exhibiting the pick-up at the Sydney Motor show which is taking place between the 11th and 21st of October.

While full performance figures have not yet been released we’d be surprised if the 410bhp engine didn’t mean a sub five seconds 0-60mph time and 150mph top speed.

The Maloo is powered by a 6-litre V8 engine originally developed for the Corvette sports car.

The Maloo is one of the sportiest ever pickup trucks – or ute as the Australians call them – with the term Maloo originating from the Aboriginal word for thunder.

Other big releases at the Sydney show include the tenth generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the 350bhp Volkswagen Touareg R50.

Sadly we don’t expect to see the HSV Maloo R8 on sale in the UK, but Australian buyers will be able to get their hands on it for $60,000 (AUS).
