The world’s most influential show for aftermarket car parts and tuning has swung open its doors in Las Vegas.

SEMA isn’t open to the public – it’s full of 120,000 industry members from more than 100 countries who get to show off, sell, research and buy the latest in automotive technology.

And in true USA style, highlights include some spectacular takes on the classic muscle car theme.

Chevrolet has challenged four separate tuning houses to modify its latest Camaro and the results are mouth watering.

While the GS Racer looks like it’s ready to take the chequered flag, the Dale Earnhardt, LS7 and Black edition Camaro receive subtle but menacing tweaks to their bodywork, headlights, wheels and engines.

The iconic Ford-F150 has been given an extra dose of testosterone by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and called the Raptor R.

It’s seven inches wider than the standard pick-up and its 5.4-litre V8 has 320bhp and a meaty 390lb/ft of pulling power.

Beefed up suspension and rugged tyres give it huge off-road ability, and it’s even capable of landing big jumps, as seen in Ford’s pictures.

Dodge has fitted its Challenger with the 8.4-litre engine seen in the Viper supercar, giving the retro muscle car 600bhp and 560lb/ft of pulling power.

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe concept has been exciting crowds at the world’s major motor shows – and it has brought three tuned versions to SEMA – before the official model has even gone on sale.

The Rhys Millen Racing Genesis Coupe is a fully stripped out and tuned speed demon, with all its body panels made from light weight carbon fibre.

A Street Concept finished in sinister matte black paintwork, shows off what is possible when aftermarket kit is mated to the 3.8-litre V6 coupe.

And lastly, turbocharging experts HKS have built its take on how the ultimate Genesis should look.

SEMA runs until November 7 and its two million square feet of exhibits look sure to throw out many more exotic cars yet.
