Tickets for the British International Motor Show 2008 are now on sale.

Prices start at £10 for an adult weekday pass, with a child ticket priced at £6.

A weekday family ticket admitting two adults and two children is £25.

The venue is the Excel exhibition centre – situated under the shadow of Canary Wharf in London’s Docklands between July 24 and August 3.

It returns after its successful debut in 2006, when it attracted almost half a million visitors.

As ever, the staple of the UK’s largest consumer event is the cars. More than 600 exciting models, from almost 70 manufacturers will be on display.

But, the enjoyment doesn’t end when you walk out of the display halls.

Outside there will be a Drift School where visitors can experience sideways, tyre smoking thrills in the safe hands of a professional driver.

And there’s the opportunity to get behind the driver’s seat on the 4x4 Experience course, wrangling Land Rover’s over purpose built inclines and obstacles.

There will be drama aplenty inside the Motor Theatre, a live-action stunt show, and each afternoon famous bands will rock the Motor Show Music Festival.

The Kidz Car Zone will be perfect for little ones, as long as they can tear the grown-ups away from the Supercar Paddock – bursting with luxury marques and exotic supercars.

A heritage enclosure also looks set to bring back fond memories of motor shows from a bygone era, with its display of supercars from the past 50 years.
