Mini and Fiat 500 'Woody' to hit Geneva
03 March 2008 Italian design house Carrozzeria Castagna is looking to cause a stir at tomorrow’s Geneva motor show with this – the Mini ‘Woody Passion Kit’ and Fiat 500 ‘WoodyWagon.’ Castagna has taken the striking new Mini Clubman with its unique ‘suicide’-style rear-opening doors, and built a series of wooden trim pieces in contrasting dark and light woodgrain effects – dubbed the Mini ‘Woody Passion Kit’ – bringing back memories of the 1960’s Mini Traveller. View more pictures of the Castagna Woody Passion Kit and WoodyWagon For the funky new Fiat 500, Castagna has had to hit the drawing board – the designers from Milan have taken a Fiat 500 and stretched it, with only the wheelbase left intact. And this extended Fiat 500 gets wooden trim to turn it into the ‘WoodyWagon’ – a larger version of the Italian firm’s hot new supermini. Castagna has reportedly upped the 500’s power from 100bhp to 155bhp via a supercharger kit. But this is not the first time Castagna has stunned the crowds at Geneva – in 2006 the Italian designers pulled the wraps off a mental Mini pick-up, complete with adjustable suspension, teak flooring, a shower and the all-important mini-fridge. Prices have not been announced for the Mini ‘Woody Passion Kit’ and the Fiat 500 ‘WoodyWagon’, but we’ll be at the Geneva motor show this week, so check back for more information. |
