The Mini range has been given a mild makeover, with more power for the Cooper S and average price increases of 2.5%.

An entry-level 90bhp One now costs £10,780, an increase of £275, while the 115bhp Cooper rises £295 to £12,100. The One D diesel model goes up £305 to £11,695.

Power for the range-topping Cooper S has been uprated by 7bhp to 170bhp. It now costs £475 more at £15,180.

Every model has received new clear-lens headlights with brighter illumination, a lower front bumper and a redesigned rear-end with remodelled light clusters. Stowage is improved in the cabin with new features including coin trays, larger cupholders and bigger door bins.

ISOFIX child-seat mountings are now standard across the range, while the entry-level One gains a rev counter.

A new five-speed gearbox with different ratios is matched to all petrol versions for improved in-gear acceleration. The Cooper's 0-60mph time is reduced by 0.1sec to 9.1sec, while the Cooper S is 0.2sec faster to 60mph taking 7.2sec. No emissions data or fuel figures have yet been released.

Mini has also announced that the Cooper S Convertible will cost £17,595, and will go on sale at the end of August. The car reaches 60mph in 7.4sec, tops out at 134mph and returns 32.1mpg on the combined cycle. Emission figures are not yet available, but the car is likely to slot into the 28% company tax band.
