Here are the first pictures of the most spine-tingling Lamborghini Murcièlago LP640 yet.

German tuning company Edo Competition worked their magic on this grey shark-nosed Lamborghini to raise the top speed to an earth-shattering 216mph.

• Edo has hiked the Murcièlago's 6.5-litre V12 engine to develop 663bhp, and almost 500lb/ft of pulling power

• That means a 0-62mph time of just 3.8 seconds, and a top speed of 216mph

• Boffins at Edo's HQ have reprogrammed the Lambo's engine computer, added bespoke air filters and an exhaust to achieve an extra 23bhp over the standard model

• Edo has developed a new rear wing for extra downforce at more than three times the UK motorway speed limit

• There's a rear view camera to avoid kerbing those expensive alloys in the supermarket car park
