New Lamborghini Murcielago at Geneva
23 February 2006 The Murcielago LP640, with 60bhp more than the previous Murcielago, has a top speed of over 200mph. There's a six-speed gearbox and the LP 640 can also come with the E-gear (automatic gearbox) paddle shift. It's this device that allows the car's ferocious progress to 62mph, as it incorporates a new launch control device called 'Thrust'. The revised V12 is at the heart of this car, and you can even order a glass engine cover to show it off. Another option is 380mm carbon ceramic brakes. The suspension has been tweaked and the interior has also received some attention, with more comfortable seats and a new sound system that can cope with DVDs and MP3s. The car will be show at Geneva, where it will find itself among other supercars from Ferrari and Porsche. A price and a precise on-sale date have yet to be released, but expect to pay around £190,000. |
