19 February 2008 Jaguar has released pictures and details of a stunning special edition – the Jaguar XKR Portfolio. And they make great viewing, whetting the appetite of fans before the Jaguar XKR Portfolio’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The interior and exterior of the Jaguar XKR Portfolio have both been given a luxury treatment. Wheels are always a crucial part of a Jaguar’s look, and this car is no exception – its 20-inch ‘Selena’ alloys have a dark finish and centre badges which hark back to the Jaguar logo of the past. The Portfolio’s bonnet and wing power vents are now hewn from milled aluminium. A new ‘Shadow Grey’ paint colour will be available, as seen in the first pictures of the Portfolio and it will be possible to choose dark grey or black for the convertible edition’s hood. While power from the 420bhp supercharged engine remains the same, bringing the car to a stop will improve thanks to its new brakes. They are the largest ever fitted to a Jaguar and have been designed by British brake experts, Alcon. Inside, the Jaguar XKR Portfolio’s most eye and ear-popping features are its leather seats which adjust in 16 directions and its 525 watt Bowers and Wilkins stereo. And the leather also covers the instrument panel, centre console, door panels, rear side panels and steering wheel. The premium quality stereo has speakers made from Kevlar, specifically tuned to the acoustics of the XKR. Jaguar is accepting orders for the Jaguar XKR Portfolio now, and it is expected to arrive in summer with a price tag of over £70,000. When it appears at the Geneva Motor Show it will be unveiled alongside the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe, Land Rover LRX and Ford Fiesta amongst others.
