First image and video: new Jaguar XJ
20 April 2009
This is the first official picture of the new Jaguar XJ – nice isn’t it?
Your guess is as good as ours at the moment because all Jaguar is releasing for the time being is a bird’s eye view of the XJ.
First impressions of the luxury motor conjure up phrases such as ‘sleek’, ‘classy’ and ‘very fast’ with Jaguar revealing it will get the same 510bhp supercharged V8 engine used in the XFR and XKR.
And a quick view of the car’s bonnet suggests Jaguar has taken styling cues from the XF.
Speaking at the Shanghai Motor Show, Jaguar MD Mike O’Driscoll revealed the new XJ will be available with a standard or long wheelbase and ‘the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including a panoramic glass roof.’
It will also get the fantastic 3-litre diesel engine found in the XF.
Despite the current economic gloom, Jaguar Land Rover continues to show us new models with revised Range Rovers appearing two weeks ago.
Full details of the new XJ will be announced in London on July 9.
