Jaguar is planning its domination of Europe's race tracks, after it revealed its all-new XKR race car.

The stunning XKR GT3 has been developed to compete in the FIA GT3 European Championship for the first time.

With a successful history in sportscar racing – including two memorable victories at Le Mans in 1988 and 1990 – Jaguar pulled the wraps off the new XKR GT3 at the Autosport show at the Birmingham NEC.

The race car, which features a road-hugging aerodynamic bodykit and huge rear wing, is powered by a 475bhp version of the road-going version's supercharged 4.2-litre engine.

Built by Buckingham-based Apex Motorsport, the new Jaguar XKR GT3 can be seen when the GT3 championship begins at Silverstone in May.
