New Jaguar unveiled - New Jaguar unveiled

Jaguar have unveiled their car of the future - the C-XF concept.

Regarded as a replacement for the S-type, the C-XF's radical design sees the company turn its back on the retro designs of the past.

Powered by a 420bhp supercharged 4.2-litre V8, the four-door coupé has a top speed of 180mph.

Industry watchers have labelled the car vital to Jaguar's future following a massive drop in sales since 2000.

Designer Ian Callum said: "Think of the XF as the Jaguar Mk2 of the future. Any good car has to have a visual heritage; it has to come from somewhere. But we’re just not interested in retro designs any more."

The new saloon will make its first public appearance at the Detroit motor show this Sunday.
