Jaguar scoops What Car? reader prize
|
20 January 2006 The XK beat off stiff competition from nine other cars, including the likes of the new Audi TT coupe and Volkswagen's drop-top Golf, the Eos, to win the accolade at the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year Awards. Thousands of readers took part in whatcar.com's poll in January, but the XK was the clear winner, collecting more than 33% of the votes cast. Steve Fowler, What Car?'s group editor said: 'Clearly, readers of Eve and whatcar.com believe the Jaguar XK will be one of the cars of 2006. Let's see if it goes on to become our Car of the Year in 2007.' Officially launched at this month's Detroit Motor Show, the Jaguar XK coupe will go on sale in March for £58,955, while the convertible version will cost £64,495. |
